The weekend was filled with action both in the EIHL and the Challenge Cup.

Chris Lawrence scored the game-winning goal and Rod Sarich netted a wonderful backhand goal as Sheffield Steelers won 3-2 at Nottingham Panthers in Challenge Cup Group B.

In the league and cup double-up, Alex Leavitt netted his sixth goal of the season in Braehead Clan's 5-1 win over Edinburgh Capitals.

Braehead, Belfast, Dundee and Fife have all now qualified for the Challenge Cup quarter-finals from Group A.

In the Elite League, Cardiff Devils made amends for their overtime defeat in Northern Ireland on Friday by skating to a 3-2 victory over Belfast Giants on Saturday evening. Jake Morissette scored the game-winning goal for the table-toping Devils.

Led by a double from Grant Toulmin, Manchester Storm beat Coventry Blaze 6-4 in Altrincham.

Dundee Stars secured their second away win of the season as they beat Fife Flyers 4-1 in Kirkaldy.

There were four games in the Elite League on Sunday night.

Paul Zanette score the overtime-winning goal as Edinburgh Capitals came from 4-1 down to win 5-4 in overtime against rivals Fife Flyers in Murrayfield.

Chris Lawerence, formerly of Coventry Blaze scored twice, including his second game-winning goal in as many nights, as Sheffield Steelers came from 3-1 down to beat Braehead Clan 4-3 in the Sheffield Arena after overtime. Lawrence now has five goals in three games since moving on loan from Coventry where he had just one assist.

Coventry Blaze defeated Nottingham Panthers 4-3 in the Skydome with Ned Lukacevic's second-period goal proving to be the game winner.

And Manchester Storm came down to earth as Dundee Stars thrashed them 5-1 with Doug Clarkson netted his eighth goal of the season.
