Linköping played Tuesday night against Modo at home in SAAB Arena remembering the win in Örnsköldsvik on Friday where Modo were defeated 3-2. Tonight Modo instead was defeated with the worst poker hand 7-2.
The home game would get the same start as the away game with an early 2-0 lead after only three minutes. The feeling was that Linköping HC had more confidence and it would be an easy victory. It looked good after the start they got, but Modo did not give in and closed the gap twice before Linköping’s Niklas Persson made it 4-2 with just under three minutes left of the first period.
"Offensively, it is good, defensively it is not so good, we are a little careless", says Niklas Persson, captain Linköping to C More after the first period.
In the second period Linköping gets a penalty shot that Garrett Roe converts behind Adam Reideborn in the Modo net. Linköping shows that they have one more gear and increases the lead to 6-2 in the second period. A period LHC totally dominated.
In the third period Garrett Roe gets his second goal of the evening when he deflects the shot-pass from Daniel Rahimi. The final score is 7-2 for the home team and the home crowd celebrates Linköping HC with standing ovations last two minutes.
