Biel pass Lugano

Biel put up a fight against Lugano; Davos falls at Lausanne; Fribourg wakes up;

Biel 2-1 Lugano

Thanks to a very important win against Lugano, Biel keep the pace for a play-off spot. For that win to happen against a contender like Lugano, Biel did the perfect game. Skate , defended well in neutral zone, play physical and had strong goalie between the pipes. This was the first game for Finnish star Jarkko Ruutu in front of home fans. Possibly motivated by the new player in the locker-room, home fans discover tonight a new face from Biel. Play physical without pass the limits. Those four lines presented by Kevin Schlapfer put the efforts in the name of the team before the individual play.

Biel made a very strong first period with multiples occasions specially by Dragan Umicevic. Was without surprise to see the home score the first goal of the game in power-play situation by top-scorer Pär Arlbrandt well assisted by Matthias Rossi. Until the end of the first period Biel was still the stronger team. In the second period was more a team that we all are use to this season specially with Fredrik Petterson in great shape, he seems finally have found the right league to play. Lucky for Biel, the goalie Simon Rytz was in pace for a great night(31 saves). In the third period Lugano did everything to score at least a goal witch they did but only in the final two minutes.

Lausanne 3-2 Davos

Like Biel, Lausanne HC also put a great fight against Davos, a team that this season have take the LNA by storm. But a road game in Lausanne(8 wins in 8 games) is never easy and Davos experienced that. Started better the visiting team in a tic-tac-toe between Hofmann and Ambühl. But the home team even without the star goalie Cristobal Huet match Davos in every aspect of the game and finally deserved to win with a goal scored 50 seconds before the end of the game by Froidevaux.

Fribourg 5-2 Zug

Fribourg is in the next phase of the champions league. But in the league the things are slightly different with only four victories in seventeen games. Fribourg is a team with potential and certainly their fans expect that after this clean victory against a contender like Zug can put the team in the right road. With three goals Marc-Antoine Pouliot was clearly the best player in the ice. Fribourg's goalie Melvin Nyfeller with 28 saves was also in the good level.
