After turning 0-2 in the final series against Jukurit to a 3-2 win Sport is the 2011 Champion of the Finnish second league Mestis.

Robin Bergman scored the championship winning goal for Sport at 8:16 of the overtime period in the last of five games.

Jukurit took a 2-0 lead of the series with a 4-0 win at home followed by a 3-1 win in Vaasa. Sport needed a miracle to win the championship - and they got it.

In game three Sport defeated Jukurit 4-1 in Mikkeli. Game four was won 2-1 after three goals in the first period and a long wait for the final whistle.

Jukurit had a home game in the deciding fifth game and took the lead after only 33 seconds by Tomas Jasko. It took 30 minutes before Sport could tie the game when Antti Jaatinen scored. Robin Bergman scored his 4th goal of the playoffs at 8:16 of the overtime and the championship goes to Vaasan Sport.

Sport will play Pelicans who finished last in SM-Liiga for a place in the 2011/12 SM-Liiga.
