Fifth straight win for Tre Kronor after 3-1 against Slovakia
Despite not playing at their best so far Sweden keeps on winning in Minsk. Today they perhaps made their best performance so far with a solid 3-1 win against Slovakia.
Sweden dominated the game and outshot Slovakia 40-21 and had a solid 2-0 lead after the first period after two beautyful goals by Gustav Nyquist and Mikael Backlund both on power play after great assists by Dick Axelsson and Joakim Lindström.
Slovakia came back a bit in the second and pulled one back when they crashed the net and Marincin was last on the only puck that beat Anders Nilsson today.
But despite injury problems on defense and playing with only five defenders today Sweden held it together and Magnus Nygren added 3-1 early in the third with a shot through traffic.
Slovakia were never close to equalize and never felt really interested in trying neither calling a time out nor pulling the goalie.
