HV71 to quarter finals

Despite a terrible regular season the Jönköping club are qualified for the quarter finals after a solid win in the decisive play in game.
HV71 came back after losing yesterday and won the third play in game against Leksand 4-2. HV71 came out very strong and took a 3-0 lead in the first period.
Ted Brithén had a great game and scored the first goal and assisted on HV71 four other goals. William Karlsson made it 4-0 early in the third to kill the game. A nice play by Brithén and the young Swiss forward Kevin Fiala ended up with Karlsson scoring on the rebound after Fiala's shot had hit the cross bar.
Leksand gave some life to the game again with two quick goals by Grönberg and Blomquist but were never really close to tie the game and their season is now over.
HV71 will now play Skellefteå in the quarter finals that start on Saturday. HV71's Riley Holzapfel will miss the first three quarter finals due to a suspension after yesterday's game. The punishment was hard as it was Holzapfel's third suspension this season.
The other quarter final matchups are Frölunda-Linköping, Växjö-Luleå and Brynäs.Färjestad.
