With a 4:2 win over last placed Rapperswil Lausanne remains in play-off contention
Lausanne came to visit the Club at the upper lake of Zurich with one intention only, take the 3 points with them and stay within range of the last play-off spot.
But it was the host Rapperswil-Jona who got on the scoreboard first with Samuel Friedli and Jordan Murray scoring in the first period. Lausanne didn't have much to add, 7 shots on goal compared to 15 of Rapperswil was a clear verdict.
With the start of the second period everthing changed, Lausanne still
had half of the shots on goal but was able to capitalise with goals
provided by Etienne Froidevaux and Colby Genoway. The penalties given in
the second period added up to 30 minutes with Rapperswils Nicolas Thibaudeau and and Johan Morant sucking up 28 minutes.
The game started from scratch with the 3rd period ahead Lausanne was
again outshot by Rapperswil, the game stayed undecided until the 58th
minute Tobias Björk, Sören Persson when Daniel Bang and a minute later Oliver Setzinger secured the 3
points with a goal to bring the romands within 6 points of a play-off
spot. Rapperswil as it seems, will prepare for a play-out series.
