NLA Round 12

NLA Round 12

13 Oct 2013 | Andreas Reiner

It was back to back rounds for all teams in the NLA this Saturday, here's what happened:

SC Bern - Servette-Genève HC:

The Bernese Bears were out for revenge after losing to Servette on Friday but found themselves behind 0:1 after Kaspars Daugavins scored 5:03 into the game. After that, it would only be Bern who made the noise: Martin Plüss 21:38) and Pascal Berger (22:56) and finally Alexei Dostoinov at 48:27 scored and secured 3 points that were more than deserved.

HC Davos - EHC Biel:

Biel was looking to confirm their win against Davos less than 24 hours later but were brought back to the grounds of reality fairly quick. With a first goal in the first period by Marcus Paulsson (4:27), Davos set the stage for a furious second period were Dino Wieser (21:48), Sven Ryser (24:00), Gregory Sciaroni (34:26), Perttu Lindgren (36:05) and again Dino Wieser (39:57) clinched the win for Davos. The third period gave Sven Ryser (44:20) the second goal of the evening before Ahren Spylo shot the lone goal for Biel.

Rapperswil-Jona Lakers - ZSC Lions:

Rapperswils curve only knows one direction this season....down! And tonight shouldn't reveal anything new but a devastating defense and an offense that doesn't deserve that name.

It was the Lions, opening the score with Ryan Keller (8:56), Patrick Bärtschi (18:25) in Period one. Mark Bastl (24:55) continued the second period where his team mates had stopped and in the 35th minute it was Stefan Hürlimann who brought Rapperswil to the scoreboard. But who thought that the Lakers would now start a comeback where disappointed, just when the 3rd period had gotten started it was Patrick Bärtschi with his second goal of the night. Benjamin Neukom only scored a minute later to give the Lakers the second goal of the night. But again it was the Lions crushing the Lakers hopes to a return to the game with Roman Wick (50:51) and Luca Cunti (55:06) scoring. Lars Frei's goal in the final minute of the game was more of a decorative adjustment than an attempt to make a change tonight.

EV Zug - Kloten Flyers:

After a furious game less than 24 hours before that saw the lead go back and forth between both teams, Kloten was trying to extend their winning streak to 3 games. Kloten was the first team to get on the scoreboard as Victor Stancescu (7:36) scored, assisted by Simon Bodenmann and Patrick von Gunten but only 3 minutes later it was Lino Martschini (10:52) assisted by Björn Christen and Fabian Sutter to even the score. The second and third period went scoreless and even the 5 minute overtime didn't produce a winner. So the shootout had to decide which team would secure the 2nd point where the Flyers had the better end.
