Canada blanks Sweden and wins 3-0 after a powerful display of skill.
Canada put on a show and won comfortable 3-0 against hosts Sweden at the World Championship in Stockholm. The numbers could have been larger as star filled Canada was clearly better then an anonymous Swedish team. The NHLers seems to have starting adjusting to the larger ice surface and Canada looks the main candidate for the gold medals.
Canada\'s super star Steven Stamkos open the scoring at 8:56 scoring after a very good power play by Canada. After that was all about Canada in the period and only thanks to several high class saves by Jhonas Enroth Sweden was only trailing by one after the first.

"We get better and better" Canada's Matt Duchene said. "We did a good performance and their goalie came up big because we really had a lot of chances", Duchene added who also was pleased with the power play. "It's lethal".
But Canada got awarded straight away in the second period instead when Luke Schenn ripped one home high over Enroth already in the first minute. After that goal Sweden actually took over more of the game and had their best part of the game but when they gave away a few counter attacks Canada took advantage and Jordan Staal finished off a two on one for 3-0.
The second goal scorer Schenn believed that this was Canada's best game so far and said "Feels like we're getting better and better".
After that the game was already decided, Sweden did their best to get one on the score board but it just wasn\'t good enough and also Mike Smith came up with some big saves to deny them and the final score was 3-0.

With nine minutes left to play Sweden's clearly best player Jhonas Enroth suddenly left the game replaced by Markström. Was he hurt? "I think it was just cramp", Markström said after the game.
Sweden's defender Erik Gustafsson was one of the few in Sweden that could be pleased with his own performance but he wasn't satisfied after the game "We have to watch ourself in the mirror and learn from this and move on. Now we now what it takes. We need tighter defense and better forechecking. They had a lot more energy from the start of the game. We give away a lot of two on ones, three on twos and breakaways".
With Switzerland having a good chance to win the group there is a big probabilty that these team will play eachother again in the quarter finals and it might be a chance that a Swedish win in the last game in the firt will give Canada in the quarter finals while a loss will give Switzerland.
"I don't think like that" Gustafsson answered on the question if it in that case would be better to finish fourth in the group. And about playing Canada in a quarter final he said "If that's the case than we will take revenge on them then".
