Sweden’s preliminary WJC roster announced

Last year's golden hero Mika Zibanejad is not on the roster as Ottawa Senators won't release him for the tournament

 
 
 
 
Sweden's junior coach Roger Rönnberg today announced a preliminary roster for his defend that is to defend the gold from last season's World Juniors. Most notable is that Mika Zibanejad is not on the roster as he is not release by Ottawa Senators who rather wants him to play in the AHL. A decision that Rönnberg and the Swedish Association is not happy with and they will try to get the decision changed. Two other important players missing are defenders Jonas Brodin and Oscar Klefbom who are both injured.

The roster contains mainly of players playing in Elitserien, but Nick Sørensen who plays in the QMJHL was a surprise in the roster.
