The Far East team gained all three points in their away game against Donbass Donetsk. Neftekhimik beats Torpedo in shootout.

Neftekhimik Nizhnekamsk is the surprise of the season so far. Not only are they the only team of the league that has gained at least one point in every match, but also do they have most points in KHL (16) of all clubs. In their away match against Torpedo Nizhni Novgorod they extended their consecutive wins to five. Their only loss so far happened 8 September (4-5 SO against Vityaz Chekhov).

Pyotr Schastlivy opened the score for Torpedo at 11:11 but already six minutes later Yegor Milovzorov was succesful in power play on the other side. In the second period it was vice versa. First Renat Mamashev turned the game around at 28:29 with the man advantage before five minutes later Torpedo earned the equalizer, also in powerplay. In the end the shootout had to decide the winner and Yegor Milovzorov as only goal scorer there earned the extra point for Neftekhimik.

Amur Khabarovsk put an end to their negative streak after losing all their first three away games this season. Against the Ukrainian league newcomers Alexander Osipov scored the game winner for the 2-3 at 41:04 in power play. Initially Vaclav Nederost had brought Donbass in front at 21:46 but not even 90 seconds later Dmitry Shitikov and Jakub Petruzalek had turned the result around completely before at 38:34 Jani Tuppurainen had tied the match. Donbass still has to wait for their first win on home ice in KHL. After the season opener (4-2 in Bratislava) they lost all games and only gained another two points.
