Tonight SKA St.Petersburg faced Traktor Chelyabinsk, which had won both first two games of the season. Tonight, however, SKA managed to win Traktor 3:2, with two of the goals being scored by Gleb Klimenko.
Traktor Chelyabinsk – SKA St. Petersburg 2:3
Already in the third minute of the game Fyodor Fyodorov managed to open the score in favour to SKA. Less than a minute later Jan Bulis tied the game, however, then late in the period Gleb Klimenko managed to score two consecutive goals, making it 3:1.
Unlike the first period, in which Traktor outshot the opponent 16-12, in the second period it was St.Petersburg which attempted the most shots. In the third period Traktor managed to score a desperate last minute goal by Evgeny Kuznetsov. Still, team failed to tie the game, losing 2:3.
Dynamo Minsk – Slovan Bratislava 4:3
It was Dynamo Minsk which, outscoring Slovan 4:3, celebrated their first victory in regulation this season. Both the game-tying and game-winning goals were scored by Teemu Laine.
Slovan had a successful start of the game, with Michal Vondrka and Libor Hudacek making it 2:0 already by the middle of the first period. Lukas Krajicek scored a powerplay goal, finishing the period 2:1 in favour of Bratislava.
In the second half of the second stanza Teemu Laine tied the game, scoring the game-winning goal early in the third period. It was Cory Murphy, then, who made it 4:2. In the last seconds of the game Jonathan Sigalet made it 3:4, still, Slovan failed to tie the game after all.
Dinamo Riga – Sibir Novosibirsk 1:2
Already in the third minute of the game Krisjanis Redlihs managed to open the score for Dinamo Riga. Playing a rather quiet first period, in the second twenty minutes it was Riga which overtook the initiative of the game, however, midway through the period Kristian Kudroc tied the game for Sibir.
In the second half of the third period Jori Lehtera scored an impressive game-winning goal, after a nice assist by Maxim Krivonozhkin. This was already the third loss for Riga this season.
