Finland demolishes Germany 8-0 to reach the semi final against Sweden

In the first quarter-final game at the WJC team Finland destroys Germany with 8 accurate shots against 1.

 
 
 
 
The quarter-final games due to the Czech Extraliga playoffs were moved to Breclav, where usually Hlinka Memorial is held. The game day starts with the game where the 2nd team of the Brno group Finland faces with the 3rd Znojmo team Germany.



Finland prepared well for this game. They used two breakaways in the first period with goals from Aleksi Mustonen and Teuvo Teräväinen to create a comfortable lead. Later in the game Finnish players only increased their lead. 4 goals by Henri Ikonen, Henrik Haapala, Joose Antonen, Artturi Lehkonen happened in the second period. In last 20 minutes Finns prepared for tomorrow’s game against Sweden and beat Marvin Cupper who replaced Patrick Klein after 40 minutes twice. Teräväinen made a double, Henrik Haapala closed the game 8-0.
