Romania coach Tom Skinner is confident about his team's perspective at the upcoming World Championship

Romania headcoach, Canadian Tom Skinner, said that he wants team Romania to earn eight points at the World Championship Division I, Group B held in Krynica, Poland (April 15-21, 2012).
“Preparing the National Team is made with a lot of optimism for the world championship in Poland. First of all, many hockey people expect Romania to win against Australia in the last match, to avoid relegation. Staying in the division I is an intermediate objective, but winning a medal is the ultimate goal. Now the challenge is to play on a different level and win eight points", said Skinner.

Tom Skinner is relying on the fact that team Romania became more competitive after playing against teams like Poland, Hungary, Italy and Lithuania. “The National team had a very challenging schedule in the 2011-2012 season. We played important matches against Poland in November, with Hungary in December, with Lithuania and Italy in February, so the team became very competitive for Division I. The players came out as winners from these matches, they are now better and have accumulated more experience, which is vital for the matches on this level. There is enough time for other improvements, but it has to be reminded that these players won last year with their team spirit", explained the technician.

Skinner states that Romania will be an uncomfortable opponent in the Group B Division I matches. “I like to coach this team and I believe that these players will do everything to perform at maximum capacity. I know that every game will be a challenge, we worked hard and it will be hard for the opponents to play against us. I expect to have a very good month of April for the national team".

Romania will play against Australia, South Korea, Netherlands, Poland and Lithuania
