The Russians ruined the party when over 25 000 spectators came to see Finland play on the Olympic Stadium in Helsinki
All was set for a big party with an outdoor game between Finland and Russia at the Olympic Stadium in Helsinki. But the cold (-16 C) made the turnout a bit lower than expected but still 25 036 spectators came to see the game.
Finland had 21-14 in shots on goal but their goal drought continues and they failed to score in front of the big crowd. And Finland has now only scored 13 goals in 7 games so far in this EHT season.
Evgeny Kuznetsov scored two points for Russia. First he assisted on Stanislav Chistov opening goal with only 43 seconds left of the second period. Six minutes into the third period Kuznetsov scored himself with a power play goal that made the final score 2-0 for the Russians.
Both teams will now travel to Stockholm for the remaining games of the Oddset Hockey Games.
