Game recap

Cole Ully scored the game-winner inside the final four minutes to give Glasgow Clan their sixth straight win, beating Manchester Storm 4-3 on Wednesday night.

The teams were tied at one after the opening 20 minutes at Braehead Arena. A nice drive to the net from Rylan Schwartz put the puck on Mitch Heard's stick at the far post to deflect home and put Clan ahead with 10:21 played. Tyer Hinam levelled on the powerplay for Storm just over five and a half minutes later, finishing on the next play after initially seeing a one-timer go wide. Storm couldn't covert on a shorthanded 2-on-1 rush as the period draw to a close all square.

Each side added a goal each in period to as they skated level through 40 minutes. Captain Deven Sideroff had the Clan back ahead just under three minutes into the second, finishing off a tic-tac-toe play involving Steven Seigo and Heard. Storm were level under six minutes later, however, when a Loren Ulett throw on net deflected pat Landon Bow off Chris Martinet's skate past his own goalie to tie the game back at 29:23. A late Simon Despres stick stopped Ryan Hughes testing Bow late just as the buzzer sounded to end the period.

A set play off a face-off saw Jake Durflinger feed the puck to Loren Ulett which came crashing back off Bow’s post with 13 minutes to play. Heard put Clan back into the lead on a powerplay at 48:47 as the home side took advantage of a Hughes high-sticking call.

Bow made a huge sliding save off Dallas Ehrhardt who had a half-empty net to shot at as Clan began to turn the puck over too often in their own zone. Those giveaways led to Darien Kielb taking a holding-stick minor, which set up Alexis D'Aoust to tie the game at 55:53. Just 26 seconds later, Cole Ully’s 100th Elite League point put Clan back into the lead.

Mike Morin called his timeout with 63 seconds to play as Storm struggled to get hold of the puck on the previous shifts. Evan Weninger eventually left the net with 53 seconds to play, but after Ehrhardt’s shot went over the Clan did well to hold the puck in the corner at the other end to keep control of the puck. Craig Martin’s shot on the final buzzer was Storm’s last chance of the game, but not enough to trouble Bow.
