Game recap

Alex Oldale logged his first professional win as Manchester Storm beat Nottingham Panthers 4-2 on Friday night with 1,955 fans in the Storm Shelter.

The 19-year-old took over netminding duties for the Storm just 12:38 in the game with Evan Weninger forced to leave injured. He cam into the game at 1-1 - Tyler Hinam having put Storm ahead at 2:32, with the game tied up by Ollie Betteridge just past the nine-minute mark.

Storm took a bench minor for Too Many Men 46 seconds into period two, but came out of the Panthers powerplay better off thanks to Hinam converting shorthanded. Alexander Lunsjo levelled the game at 33:27 to send things into the final period all square.

7:40 into period three, Joe Morrow put Storm back ahead, and then had Oldale to thank for stopping a penalty shot with under seven minutes to play. Rok Stojanovič was pulled from the Panthers net with 1:47 to play, but 46 seconds later Morrow had the puck in the empty net to settle the game.
