Game recap

Belfast Giants survived a third-period Glasgow Clan fightback to win 6-3 on xTuesday night at the SEE Arena in front of 6,453 fans.

Mark Cooper got the only goal of the opening period before Steven McParland levelled things on a penalty shot with 10:20 played in period two.

The Giants then ran in three goals in as many minutes to take full control - Scott Conway and Lewis Hook both converting on the powerplay with Ben Lake adding the home side's fourth at 36:16. McParland's second of the night brought Clan back to within two at 48:40 before Jordan Cownie made it a one-goal game with 7:59 left on the clock.

The visitors had several good chances around the Giants net but when David Goodwin fed Scott Conway to pull a move and shoot past John Muse at 57:26 the game was all-but done. Ciaran Long fired into the empty net to complete the scoring.
