Game recap

A late Christophe Boivin goal gave the Nottingham Panthers an important road win in Guildford that kept them in fourth with some breathing space over the teams below them.

Guildford coming off the back of a 5-0 win in Dundee, took the lead inside two minutes at the Spectrum thanks to Alex Yuill tipping Jamal Watson's shot past Kevin Carr with 1:50 played.

That was a lead the Flames , who had three powerplay opportunities to extent their lead, held until midway through the second period. Boivin tied the game on a tic-tac-toe play as he and Massimo Carozza broke 2-on-1.

The game looked like it would be all square at 60 minutes, but Boivin won the puck behind the Flames' net and skated in front to beat Kevin Lindskoug with 3:45 to play and put the Panthers ahead.

Guildford missed another man advantage chance inside the final three minutes and also pulled Lindskoug for the extra skater, but Brady Norrish made sure of the Panthers' win when he found the empty net with 17 seconds remaining.
