Game recap

Nottingham Panthers celebrated a four-point weekend with an overtime victory in Glasgow over the Clan by the odd goal in seven.

Clan had an excellent opening period and were deservedly ahead after the first 20 minutes. Guiilaume Gauthier opened the scoring 7:32 into the game when Colin Campbell's pass intended for Braylon Shmyr fell into the path of Gauthier and he picked his spot in the slot to make it 1-0.

Gauthier got on a rebound to finish a Clan poweprlay at 18:33 to give Malcom Cameron's side a two-goal lead after the first period.

Nottingham responded almost immediately at the start of period two. Matt Lane got them on the board just 50 seconds into things to halve the deficit, and by 26:01 Matthew Myers levelled the game while Brock Beukeboom sat a cross-checking minor.

Inside the final five minutes of the period, Sean Richards' pass found Myers all alone in the centre of the ice, and he skated through to beat Shane Starrett and put the Panthers ahead.

Clan peppered Carr's net with shots in period three and were deservedly level at 44:13 when Guillaume Gauthier deflected Tim Shoup's shot into the net to complete his hat trick. The hosts had enough pressure to win the game in regulation but found Carr and the post in their way of retaking the lead.

In the final seconds of the third period, a loose puck off Starrett almost allowed the Panthers to snatch a late winner but the buzzer sounded just in time for the home side.
