Sheffield went clear at the top of the Premier Sports Elite LEague table thanks to an overtime win against Glasgow Clan, who have now not lost in regulation for five games.

Clan, who came into Sheffield on the back of a four-game win streak, started well and took the lead in just over four and a half minutes when the puck broke kindly for Rodney Southam who shot past Brust on a bouncing puck.

It took the league-leading hosts some 20 minutes to tie things up. Evan Mosey was the man to do it on a rebound from Shane Starrett off Marc-Olivier Vallerand's shot, but the play owed much to Brust making a couple of saves at the other end to keep the Steelers within one.

The ever-impressive Vallerand batted home a Martin Látal pass 7:36 into the third period to put the home side ahead, but Clan hit a deserved equaliser late in the game. Rushing 2-on-1, Guillaume Gauthier opted to pull and move and shoot to beat Brust high and tie things up with 6:41 left to play.

Clan had a late powerplay chance to win it when Sam Jones was called for hooking inside the final five minutes, but the game was to be decided in overtime.

An innocuous dump in from Justin Hodgman ended with a lucky break for the puck to land on Látal's stick, and as the Czech forward's effort saw the puck stop in the crease just short of the goal line, Hodgman followed in to knock the puck over the line and give the Steelers the bonus point.
