Game recap

The Nottingham Panthers came from 3-0 and 4-3 down to beat the Sheffield Steelers in overtime at the Motorpoint Arena.

The Steelers were fast out of the blocks even by their own standards! A poor giveaway by the Panthers allowed Tanner Eberle to skate through and slot past Ben Bowns with only 12 seconds played. Eberle made it two at 7:11 with a fine effort around Ben Bowns, and by 10:39 Liam Kerk had put the Steelers 3-0 with a shot through the five-hole.

Brett Perlini isn't a man you want o leave in space, and he opened the Panthers' account just shy of the 15-minute mark to get his side on the board before the period was out.

Austin Cangelosi brought the Panthers back to within two, before an Ollie Betteridge effort from distance found its way through to tie the game just under ten minutes later - 3-3 after 40 minutes.

Eberle completed his hat-trick at 43:53, but the Panthers were to come from behind again - Dominic Talbot-Tassi scoring on the powerplay to make it four each with 11:41 to go in the third.

With no winner in regulation, the game went into overtime and it took just 17 seconds for Christophe Boivin to slot home the game-winner from Austin Cangelosi's pass.
