Game recap

Coventry Blaze had the perfect answer to Saturday's defeat in Belfast by beating the Giants by exactly the same scoreline on Sunday afternoon.

Luke Ferrara's powerplay goal put the visitors ahead at 3:07 and when Andrew Johnston converted on a breakaway the Blaze were two up inside six minutes. Former Blaze man Ben Lake got the Giants on the board with some nice hands at the top of the crease with just shy of 15 minutes played.

Johnston finished after some nice powerplay build-up to make it 3-1 with 32:45 played, and a little over three minutes later Matt Pohlkamp tipped Ross Venus' shot past Stephen Murphy to take the Blaze on to four.

That was where the scoring ended as the Blaze saw out the final period to take the two points.
