Game recap

Belfast Giants exacted revenge for their home defeat by Dundee shortly before New Year with a late goal to take a narrow win against the Stars in Scotland.

Things started well for the Stars who led by a goal after the opening period thanks to a deflected shot with the goal given to Matt Carter. The forward doubled both his own and his side's tally with a wrap-around effort 2:15 into the middle period to put the hosts into a decent lead.

Former Star Elgin Pearce pulled a goal back on the powerplay at 26:02 followed by a chorus of jeers from the home crowd for their ex-player.

2:27 into the final period Lewis Hook capitalised on a bad turnover in the Stars' own zone to tie the game up. Late on, the hosts were dealt a killer blow as David Goodwin's shot from the wing flew past Alex Leclerc to give the Giants the win.
