Game recap

Alex Leclerc made 43 saves as Dundee Stars earned their second win in Belfast of the season, and third out of four against the Giants this campaign.

The only goal of the opening 20 minutes went to the visitors on the when Drydn Dow followed up a rebound at 15:45 to put the Stars ahead.

Belfast levelled the game 3:36 into the middle period with Mark Garside’s shot from the point going all the way through after Alez Leclerc had made an important stop for the Stars. However, as the period ticked down, Dundee made use of their first powerplay of the game as Anthony Beauregard’s wrist shot from the blue-line went past everyone including Shane Owen to put Dundee back ahead at 38:49.

57 seconds into period three Elgin Pearce finished off an excellent powerplay goal after a fine pass from Kevin Dufour to give the Stars a 3-1 lead. Leclerc stood tall as the Stars absorbed pressure from the Giants, and the visitors were ultimately rewarded with Matt Marquardt firing into the empty net to make the points safe at 59:42. Bobby Farnham grabbed a late consolation for the Giants with one second to play.
