Game recap

Belfast Giants made home advantage count with a five-goal win against a Dundee Stars side that are still trying to find their way out of a losing streak.

Patryk Wronka opened the scoring just over eight minutes into the game but the Stars, who won in Belfast in the Challenge Cup, were level thanks to Matt Marquardt's effort at 11:13 after video review. Jordan Smotherman only needed 67 seconds to put the Giants back ahead, and with 28 seconds left in the period Liam Morgan capitalised on a loose puck in the crease to make it 3-1.

Elgin Pearce pulled Dundee back into things 33 seconds into the middle period, but that was as good as it would get for the visitors.

Goals from Matt Pelech and Lewis hook ten minurtes apart, followed by Jean Dupuy at 39:21 had the Giants 6-2 ahead after 40 minutes, with Jesse Forsberg scoring his first professional goal at 46:34 to seal the 7-2 win.
