Game recap

A crazy game on Thursday night in Cardiff saw the Devils come out on top over Dundee after 14 goals were scored in 60 minutes.

Elgin Pearce's shorthanded solo effort put the Stars ahead with 3:30 gone, with Mark Richardson levelling up at 5:10 in what turned out to be a quiet opening opening period.

Things however exploded in the second. Drydn Dow and Pearce again combined to put the visitors 3-1 up by 28 minutes; before a power play effort from Sean McMonagle and fine effort from Mathias Sointu levelled the game by just shy of the 30 minute mark. Dundee however would lead by two at the break as Kevin Dufour and then Justin Maylan both added goals to the visitors' total. 5-3 Dundee after 40 minutes.

Two Matt Pope goals brought Cardiff level, but again Dundee took the lead - Dow on hand to poke home at the far post to make it 6-5 with 10:37 to play. The Stars however could only hold their lead for 39 seconds before Gleason Fournier equalised - and then at 52:29 Stephen Dixon put the Devils ahead for the first time on the night. Matthew Myers' finish into the empty net from his own zone gave the Devils an 8-6 win with 58 seconds to play.
