Game recap

Dundee Stars earned their first league win of the 2019/20 season with a victory by the odd goal in seven in Belfast.

The visitors, who soaked up a lot of pressure from the Giants throughout the game, took the lead shorthanded as Kevin Dufour finished at 13:32. Ben Lake got the Giants level 2:22 into the middle period, and things look to have turned for the home side when Curtis Hamilton scored just past the halfway mark.

However Dufour struck on the powerplay at 36:57 to tie the game again, and despite being on the back foot for most of the final period Anthony Beauregard then gave the Stars the lead - 51:18 on the click when he pulled off a nice breakaway move to beat Shane Owen. Beauregard scored into the empty net with 1:35 to play to seal the win, although it was a nervous final 17 seconds for Omar Pacha's team after Brian Ward brought the Giants back to within one. Alex Leclerc made 65 savers in the Stars' win.
