Goals and assists
Fife tied the game late on and then won in a shootout to move on to 62 points and create a three-way battle for fifth place.
Guildford, looking for their first win over the Flyers this season, took the lead through Evan Ritt after just 27 seconds. That lead held until 2:16 in period two, Brett Bulmer levelling things up on the powerplay. Guildford were back in the lead just over three minutes later, Jamie Crooks tipping TJ Foster’s shot past Shane Owen at 25:28 also on a powerplay.
Guildford led into the closing staged, but were pegged back again by another powerplay goal – this time Marcus Basara with lighting the lamp for the home side. A flurry of penalties towards the end of the game gave both sides the chance to win it, but they both took a point with no winner after 60 minutes.
Overtime was end to end without producing a winner, so the game was decided on penalty shots. Guildford were unable to beat Owens with any of their five attempts, while Mike Cazzola and Danick Gauthier found the net for the Flyers to give them the extra point.
