Game recap

A fourth home win in a row for Nottingham saw the Panthers make sure of their place in the playoffs, and climb to third in the table.

Another game scoreless after the opening period tonight, the Panthers took full control of the match with a goal burst in the middle period. Alex Guptill opened the scoring at 9:16, followed 43 seconds later by Chris Stewart doubling the lead. Alex Bolduc netted shorthanded at 38:36, before the Storm got themselves on the board on the same powerplay with 46 seconds left in the period.

2:12 into period three Luke Pither put the home side back three ahead, and when Tim Billingsley made it 5-1 with 47:29 gone the points were as good as safe. A late Dane Byers goal with 4:48 to play gave the Storm their second of the night, but not enough to launch any more of a fightback.
