Game recap

A night to forget at home for the Nottingham Panthers, while for Fife Flyers it was one to remember with an important two points.

The Panthers had a disastrous opening period as Fife raced into a three-goal lead. Joe Basaraba opened the scoring at 1:44, and 2:15 later Paul Crowder doubled the visitors’ lead. When Carlo Finucci netted shorthanded the Flyers were three ahead with only 19:11 gone.

Chase Schaber struck on the powerplay to make it four just past the halfway point in the game, while Evan Bloodoff brought Fife’s tally up to five at 33:50. The Panthers got on the board through Alexandre Bolduc just over a minute later, but the Flyers’ five-goal advantage was restored at the begging of period three thanks to Basaraba again. Kevin Henderson brought the score back to 2-6 with 9:08 remaining but it was too late for the Panthers who fell to a heavy home loss.
