After beating Finland 4-1 in their last game of the Round Robin at the World Juniors in Edmonton, Canada will play Czech Republic in the quarter final.
The final game of Group A of the World Juniors was one sided in the first two period. Canada outshot Finland 17-1 in the first period and 18-6 in the second to earn a 3-0 lead.
In the third period Finland suddenly put up a good fight and actually outshot Canada 12-5. They also got a goal when Brad Lambert scored from the left circle on Finland's only powerplay of the game. A couple of minutes before the end Finland also pulled goalie Kari Piiroinen to get closer but instead Dylan Cozens stole the puck from Kasper Puutio to score an empty-netter for 4-1.
Canada's captain Cozens also scored the first goal of the game at 3:49 to give Canada a good start, after stealing the puck on the own blue line.
Dylan Holloway made it 2-0 when he tipped in Jakob Pelletier's shot. And Peyton Krebs scored 3-0 at 33 minutes.
Finland finished Group A on second place and will play the third placed team of Group B in the quart final. It is still not known if it will be USA or Sweden.
