Red Bulls Salzburg champions after drama

The seventh and decisive final game between Red Bulls and KAC went to overtime and Thomas Koch scored the championship winning goal.
2:58 into the overtime period Thomas Koch scored the game and championship winner. 'The feeling is unbelievable. Game seven in a full arena in Klagenfurt", Koch said after the game and added "we have worked so hard for this, it's insane. I'm so proud of the team".
Before the overtime the first period ended 1-1 and the second 0-0. In the third Steven Regier made it 2-1 for the guests but Tyler Scofiled tied the game with less then five minutes left to play on one of many power plays.
After winning the league with a ten point margin KAC Klagenfurt was the favourites to the title but despite being down 2-3 after five games Red Bulls managed to turn things around. Winning the sixth game at home 5-2 and today 3-2 after overtime on away ice.
Wit this win the Red Bulls maintains their position as the dominating club in Austria winning their fourth title in five years.
