Třinec won also the second game of the Czech Extraliga finals
As Eurohockey.com was predicting, Vítkovice would be different than in the second than in one day ago. They played much better and were keeping the score at 0-0 during all the game. But one minute before the last horn, Varaďa scored a goal and the second victory in the series for Třinec was a fact.
Game Two (Tue, Apr 5):
Třinec – Vítkovice 2:0 (0:0, 0:0, 2:0)For the first thirty minutes of play this was really an equal game. The chances were on the both sides, but still it was tougher game than the first one, with a smaller amount of goal-chances.
Vítkovice had three good shots during the first five minutes, but the first really big chance were in the third minute on the home side: Peterek lured all five Vítkovice players by himself and passed fantastically to the unguarded Koudelka ahead of Málek’s net and shot off the cross-bar.
In this style all the game was going on. Vítkovice was trying to make the chances, but Třinec got them. But the score was still tied with no goal until the time 58:59! A quick intersection in the attacking zone of Varaďa and Martin Růžička was successful after a bulldog work of Varaďa who pulled the rebounded Růžička shot into the net.
On the next face-off Vítkovice first power play line came to play. They won the faceoff, cranked up the puck in the attacking zone, Málek left the net for Pohl, but Třinec did a turnover and Adamský scored into the empty net after Růžička’s pass.
This was really a shocking end of a game that was heading for the overtime and Werk Aréna exploded in a big euphoria. The interesting point of the game are two goal-assistances of Martin Růžička in the game, what means increasing of his current playoffs record in points on the value of 30 points (15+15) and keeping an average of two points a game.
