Friday’s Euro Hockey Challenge results

The Euro Hockey Challenge is a series of preparation games for the upcoming World Championships. Today Finland, Russia, Czech Republic, Switzerland and Germany won their games.
The top twelve European nations play in a series of preparation games called the Euro Hockey Challenge. As many leagues still have playoffs playing many top players are missing but this is a good way of keeping form of the players which teams has been eliminated from playoffs.
Finland - Slovakia 3-1 (2-0,0-0,1-1)
Janne Pesonen assisted on all three goals when Finland defeated Slovakia 3-1. Slovakia outshot the Finns 30-23 but scored their only goal of the game with 1:31 left to play playing 6 on 4.
Russia - Belarus 3-2 (1-2,1-0,0-0,0-0,1-0)
Russia needed a penalty shootout to beat Belarus 3-2. Belarus had a 2-1 lead after the first period but Maxim Rybin tied the game in the second and later went on to score the game winner in the shootout.
Norway - Czech Republic 1-2 (0-0,0-0,1-2)
The Czechs outshot Norway 37-19 but when Mats Frøshaug made it 1-0 in the beginning of the third Norway had hopes of a surprise. The Czech however quickly turned the game around with David Stich scoring the game winner and assisting on the 1-1 goal.
Sweden - Latvia 7-4 (0-1,4-2,3-1)
Latvia had a strong 3-0 lead away to Sweden before Tre Kronor and Pontus Petterström woke up. Sweden scored seven unanswered goals before Latvia added a late fourth goal. Petterström scored three of the first four Swedish goals.
Germany - Austria 4-2 (2-1,2-1,0-0)Simon Fischhaber scored two goals when Germany followed up their 7-0 win yesterday with 4-2 win today. Austria held a tie at 2-2 for a while and did better then in the 0-7 loss but still lost again.
Switzerland - Denmark 4-1 (1-0,2-0,1-1)
Switzerland went up to a 4-0 lead before Denmark scored a consulation goal by Nichlas Hardt in the third period. Rubin, Bykov, Jeannin and Bezina scored for Switzerland.
