Tactical win for Blues in the first semi final

Espoo Blues surprised JYP with a lot of puck possession that forced the home favourites to play more at the defensive end than expected. Blues won the first game of the series 3-1.

Blues got a perfect start of the game and of the series. Arttu Luttinen made it 1-0 after 15:15 and in the next minute Stefan Öhman scored 2-0 for the visitors. Arttu Luttinen added his second goal of the game late in the second period and JYP had to start period 3 down 0-3. Turo Asplund got a puck past Iiro Tarkki in the Blues net at 41:45 to make it 1-3 but JYP didn't come ant closer.

"We were ready right from the start and showed that we are here to fight in every situation. This was a good start of the series for us", says the 2-goal scorer Luttinen to Hufvudstadsbladet.

The second game is played tomorrow.
