Red Bulls and KAC will play final in Austria

Red Bulls Salzburg defeats Vienna Capitals 4-1 at home in the seventh semi final game to reach the final against Klagenfurt.

The final in the Austrian top league, Erste Bank Eishockeyliga will be played between KAC Klagenfurt and Red Bulls Salzburg. KAC who won the league ten points ahead of Red Bulls are favourites to the title. KAC won their semi final against VSV Villach with 4-1. VSV won the first game but then KAC won four games in a row.

In the semi final between Salzburg and Vienna the home team won all games, Vienna won one of their home games 9-1 but were never close to beat Salzburg on away ice. In the seventh game Red Bulls won 4-1 in front of 3200 spectators. Vienna got several chances on power plays when the score was 2-1 in the third period but Daniel Welser and and Thomas Koch scored one goal each in the last five minutes.
