In yesterdays round robin game, Finland blanked Norway 5-0 to keep in reach of a quarterfinal spot while Norway remains without a point at the world championship.
3 unanswered powerplay goals by the Finns were just too much to take for a Norwegian team that never had a chance to get into the game. Esa Lindell (assist Jussi Jokinen, Aleksander Barkov) in the 6th minute, Joonas Kemppainen (Esa Lindell, Juhamatti Aaltonen in the 29th and 31st minute capitalized on the powerplay chances they were given. Two goals in the 3rd period within less than a minute secured 3 points for Finland, who are fighting for a quarterfinal spot with teams like Russia, Belorus or Slovakia and will face Slovenia after a resting day. For Norway, the goal will be to avoid relegation round and needs to win against Slovenia and Denmark.
