Lokomotiv and SKA win the first KHL Quarter Finals

Lokomotiv Yaroslavl beat Dinamo Riga 4-2 and SKA St. Petersburg beat Atlant Moscow Oblast 4-3 when the KHL quarter finals started today.

Ivan Tkachenko scored a late game-winner at 55:11 and Josef Vasicek added an empty-netter in the last minute when Lokomotiv beat Riga at home 4-2. Alexander Galimov scored 1-0 for the home team but Riga tied it in the second period an a goal by Robert Petrovicky. Mark Hartigan took Riga to a 2-1 lead at 48:35 but Karel Rachunek tied it less than a minute later.

SKA St. Petersburg 5:3 Atlant Moscow Oblast
Mattias Weinhandl scored for the fifth game in a row when SKA won Quarter Final game 1 against Atlant 5-3. The score after the first period was 0-0 but the second period saw 7 (!) goals. Anton But scored 1-0 for SKA. Atland replied with 3 goals in less than 4 minues (Dmitri Upper, Sergei Mozyakin and Alexei Glukhov). Daniil Markov, Denis Denisov and Petr Prucha scored for SKA to turn the game to a 4-3 lead. Weinhandl added 5-1 early in the third period.
