Lokomotiv knocks out Minsk from the KHL playoffs

Lokomotiv Yaroslavl beat Dinamo Minsk 6-1 today and eliminated the Belarusian team from the KHL Quarter Finals.

Lokomotiv got past the first round of playoffs with more problems than expected. The last game of the series wasn't that difficult though. The early goals by
Gennady Churilov and
Alexander Korolyuk and the road to the 6-1 win was solid. After a scoreless middle period Lokomotiv won the third 4-1 and the game 6-1.
Andrei Kiryukhin,
Karel Rachunek,
Josef Vasicek and
Ivan Tkachenko scored Lokomotivs third period goals.
Geoff Platt scored the only goal for Minsk.
Seven of the eight 1/8 Final series are decided now. Only Avangard Omsk-Neftekhimik Nizhnekamsk is still alive. The seventh game will be played tomorrow in Omsk.
