A shocking defeat came for SKA at their home arena as Sibir took away two points after winning in a shootout. Tony Martensson opened the scoring for the home side at 7:32 on a powerplay. Another powerplay goal at 42:41 brought the game to the level as Ivan Lekomtsev ties it on Jori Lehtera and Jonas Enlund's assists. As the game went to overtime, neither team were able to score the game-winner, but then Dmitry Kugryshev slides the puck past Salak in the shootout, to bring the game to a close.

At 13:16 it was already 2:0 for the home side through Tomas Surovy. Before the period ended, Ryan Vesce scores a powerplay tally at 17:48 to decrease the lead. At 26:33 Boyd Kane adds another one on Kevin Lalande in net, while Jonathan Cheechoo becomes the league's top scorer with a strike early in overtime.

Yegor Dudin doubles with 33 seconds into the middle period. At 55:13 Sergei Shirokov brings some action to the game as he cuts the lead to 1. Five seconds before the end Andrei Kostitsyn seals the deal with his second of the night, for a 3:1 win in Moscow.
