Players sued club because of unpaid wages but Court ruled in favour of Gomel

Defender Kirill Stepanov and Latvian veteran Atvars Tribuncovs had filed a lawsuit against HC Gomel in order to have their salary from last season . "With this month, we received only 20 percent of the total amount earned under the contract. - said Stepanov - "season ended and we had several meetings with  the club Director Mr. Usovich. He gave his word that club would gladly paid all the money, but could not get over the decree (a decree of President Lukashenko, determining all wages from January 2013 may not be payed to "save" almost all club from bankruptcy). Like, do not want to sit in jail because of this."

Me and Atvars Tribuntcovs consulted with a qualified lawyer regarding the decree. He carefully studied the contracts and the decree, and then reported that have no connection between a document issued by Lukashenko and wage arrears. We have collected all the documents and filed a lawsuit against HC Gomel. It's been five meetings which were always present different people from the club, including Mr. Usovich. Never one of them referred to Lukashenko's decree, and just trying to find loopholes in the contract to not pay. I was summoned to a meeting on July 12, and for about 50 minutes I answered questions from the judge. It got to the ridiculous: When the judge asked whether the new presidential decree related to the contractual payments (bonuses), one of the club's representatives said no! And mr. Usovich says he does not have anything to sign the contract, even though we personally signed it" told Stepanov, now playing in Russia for Molot Prikamie.

But today the Central District Court of Gomel ruled against claims: the claims were unfounded and were denied in full, as reported by the official website of Gomel "HC Gomel has no arrears of salary for Kirill Stepanov and Atvars Tribuncovs"
