The 2011/12 season of Elitserien ended with a final series between Brynäs and Skellefteå with Brynäs as winners. Today the teams played again and Brynäs won again. The man of the match, Calle Järnkrok, scored two goals and assisted to one.

Brynäs beat Skellefteå away 5-3. Calle Järnkrok scored twice. Brynäs had the lead from 09:39 when Johan Harju opened the scoring until the final buzzer. With 12 seconds remaining of the second period the league's top scorer, George Holloway of Skellefteå, closed the gap to one when he made it 3-4. But a minute before the end of the game Sebastian Enterfeldt scored an empty-netter for 3-5.

Luleå lost 2-3 in shoot-out at home to Frölunda, but the point they earned was enough to take over the league lead from HV71. Daniel Gunnarsson and Joonas Viihko scored for Luleå and Matt Duchene and Christian Bäckman for Frölunda. Fabian Brunnström scored the winner in the shoot-out.

Only 4594 spectators came to see MODO beat Växjö 5-2. The win wasn't as clear as the result implies. Växjö was close to tying the game 3-3 but insted MODO scored two empty net goals. Alexander Steen, Morten Madsen, Ludwig Byström, Mario Kempe and  Mattias Ritola scored for the home team.

AIK with a new coach, Anders Eldebrink, lost 3-2 at home to Färjestad. AIK took the lead on a goal by Jonas Liwing but Färjestad scored the next three goals. Per Åslund, Ville Lajunen and Max Görtz were the ones to beat Daniel Larsson in AIK's net. Broc Little scored AIK's second goal.

The league leader HV71 was shut out in the home game against Linköping. Andreas Andersson (former HV71 goalie) in Linköping's net made 26 saves and Simon Hjalmarsson scored both goals.
