Ottawa Senators' Aleksei Kovalev recorded his 1,000th point Monday night with a power-play goal in the first period of the Senators' game against Los Angeles Kings.

Kovalev is the 76th NHL player to record 1,000 points and he joins Sergei Fedorov and Aleksandr Mogilny as only the third Russian player to reach the milestone.

Kovalev has now 418 goals and 582 assists in 1,249 regular-season games, began his NHL career with New York in 1992-93 and won a Stanley Cup with the Rangers in 1994. He has also played for Pittsburgh and Montreal.

Another Senators player, captain Daniel Alfredsson, also marked his 1,000th point this season.
