Hockey popularity continues to increase in Norway

For the sixth consecutive year, the number of spectators increased, with an average of almost 1500 per match.
Last year Getligaen recorded an average of 1.468 spectators, this season the number slightly increased to 1472, a tendency holding over from six consecutive seasons. In 1995, a year after the Olympic games in Lillehammer, the average was 1455, falling down in next years until negative record of 726 in 1996\97. But from the 2001 season the average was constantly over 1.000, increasing in the last seasons.
Sparta Sarpsborg has the best average attendance (2755), but also
Storhamar Dragons attracted a 2349 average until now, marked the largest increase among all the teams in the league. Also
Lørenskog and champions
Stavanger Oilers have a quite good increase from last season.
Stjernen and Frisk Asker, bottom in league, have the most negative balance comparing with last season.
