Former hockey player and coach Evzen Musil passes away at 83. He has his name recorded on Guinness World Records.

Due to severe illness, legendary coach Evzen Musil passed away last Friday at 83 years of age.
Eugene Musil was born 9 October 1927 and spent the greater part of his life to develop ice hockey in Pardubice.
After playing for AFK Svitkov for 16 years, he started coaching team Zettel in 1951. Following a short period at Köln (GER) he returned to Pardubice, where began coaching in 1965. During his forty years career he weaned most talents graduating from Hockey School, among them, Dominik Hasek, Jiří Šejba and Otakar Janecký.

During te season of 1997/1998 Musil got his name written in the Guinness Book of World Records as the oldest active player in a professional league. Seventy years old, he played a single-minute substitution in an Extraliga game between Pardubice and Vsetin, surpassing Gordie Howe.

Musil also contributed in developing womens' ice hockey in Pardubice: in recent years, he worked with the talents of the women's team in Pardubice.
