Robin Rahm suspended two years
Färjestad's goalie tested positive for anabolic substances this summer.
The Swedish goalie Robin Rahm was expected to be Färjestad's first goalie in Elitserien this year. But after failing a doping test this summer the promising goalkeeper was released by his club. The doping test took place on June 28th and the 24 year old goalkeeper tested positive for several anabolic substances.
The maximum suspension is four years but Robin Rahm will only be suspended for two years, until August 2nd 2012. After the result of the doping test Rahm immediately confessed that he took the substances to get a faster recovery from an hip injury. The confession was one of the main reasons that Rahm didn't get the maximum suspension.
In a comment Robin Rahm tells Swedish newspaper Sportbladet that he is relieved that he only got a two year suspension and he is fully focused on playing again after the suspension.
