  • Trivia: Defected to North America via Swizerland with Vaclav Nedomansky in 1974. According to IIHF rules, any player who illegally changes his nationality (a.ka. deflect to west) would have been suspended for 18 months. So playing in Swizerland was not an option so the duo headed to North America to play in WHA, which was not under IIHF regulations
