Game recap

Dinamo Minsk secured an emphatic 5-1 win over Vityaz at the Balashikha Arena, leaving the home crowd of 1,323 spectators disappointed. Both teams entered the game coming off contrasting results, with Vityaz triumphing in their previous encounter, while Dinamo Minsk had suffered a heavy defeat.

The visitors started strong, with Alexander Volkov opening the scoring early in the first period after capitalizing on a turnover in the neutral zone. He skillfully maneuvered through two defenders before firing a shot past Vityaz's goalie, Maxim Dorozhko. Shortly after, Vitaly Pinchuk doubled the lead, thanks to a clever pass from Sam Ennis behind the net. Vityaz tried to respond, but their finishing lacked precision, and Dinamo Minsk took full advantage of their chances.

Dinamo extended their lead when Roman Gorbunov's shot beat Dorozhko, prompting a goalie change as Dmitry Shikin replaced Dorozhko. Vityaz showed some life near the end of the period when Frédérik Gauthier scored a beautiful goal, assisted by Dmitry Buchelnikov, giving the home side a glimmer of hope heading into the first intermission with a 3-1 deficit.

The second period was marked by physical play and penalties, including a scuffle after a heavy hit by Andrei Chivilyov. Both teams had power play opportunities, but Dinamo Minsk's defense, anchored by goaltender Andrei Kareev, held strong. Vityaz's best chance came from Ivan Chekhovich, who narrowly missed a critical shot.

Dinamo sealed the win with two more goals. Dillon Dubé added a fourth in the second period with a wrist shot from the left circle, and Ilya Usov completed the scoring early in the third period after a controversial video review confirmed his goal. Vityaz's attempts to mount a comeback fell short, with their power plays in the final minutes proving ineffective.
