Lada secured a commanding 6-3 win over Dynamo Moscow in front of 5,127 fans. This victory marked the end of Lada's home series, which had previously seen losses to Lokomotiv and SKA. Despite the rough start to the season, Lada delivered a strong performance, outplaying the reigning Continental Cup champions.
The game got off to a flying start with Lada scoring early in the third minute. Troy Josephs skillfully held onto the puck behind Dynamo's net, setting up Ostap Safin for a clean finish. Dynamo quickly responded with Daniil Pylenkov equalizing, breaking through Lada's defense. Lada took the lead again during a power play as Yegor Chernikov capitalized on a rebound. Just before the first period ended, Vladislav Semyon, fresh from the penalty box, beat Dynamo's goaltender Maxim Motorygin on a breakaway to make it 3-1.
In the second period, Lada maintained control, with Magomed Sharakanov netting his first-ever KHL goal off a superb assist from Safin. Dynamo coach Alexei Kudashov made a goaltending change, replacing Motorygin with Hunter Miska. The move briefly paid off as Maxim Dzhioshvili narrowed the deficit for Dynamo.
The third period saw Lada extend their lead again when Nikita Popugaev surprised Miska with a sharp-angle shot. Dynamo pressed hard, but Lada's defense held firm, with goaltender Vladislav Podyapolsky delivering several crucial saves. Although Maxim Comtois brought Dynamo closer with a late goal, Lada sealed the victory when Nikita Mikhailov scored into an empty net.
Lada's defense, led by Podyapolsky's stellar performance, and their efficient counterattacks were key to their success, despite Dynamo's dominance in shots and time spent in the offensive zone.
